Ralph Lauren Fall 2020 Charcoal Italian Cashmere Embellished Cardigan Sweater

Ralph Lauren designed Fall 2020 long before the world went into lockdown. Elegant moody looks were reflected in a simple palette of black, charcoal, and brown, combined with luxe details, as always. The effect was sleek, modern, and gorgeous. Whether he anticipated it or not, now more than ever fashion is being distilled down to the bare essentials. As many work from home, it’s no surprise that his cashmere and athleisure pieces have been so wildly successful. If anyone knows how to refine casual tropes through a luxurious lens, it’s Lauren. His penchant for gray flannel was a starting point, and he doubled down on the classics, tweaked the tailoring to fit the demands of a modern wardrobe, in tactile Italian fabrics, and added a dash of twinkle of subtly reflective bugle beadwork. He mined archives for inspiration, and the result was sophisticated, understated, and unfussy - a good fit for our times, whether it be in the home, office, or far beyond. Shetland inspired woolen spun cashmere, shawl collar, open front cardigan, self sash, hits at the thigh, long sleeve, on-seam pockets, in deep charcoal gray, intricate fisherman’s r8b knit with faceted crystals in a chevron pattern. As gorgeous worn to lunch with the ladies, a board meeting, or out and about town. I think it would also make an ideally packable piece to layer on while abroad, when you want something classy, not fussy. 100% cashmere yarn, made in Italy.
