Unique and rare vintage Russian squirrel fur shawl. Plush, long haired Kandinsky fur. The front is rolled under so you can use it as a muffler! Extra chic, extra warmth! In excellent vintage condition! Very plush. No bald spots. Color is more of a neutral brown in person (not as red). SHOULDER: up to 17". FRONT LENGTH: 24". BACK LENGTH: 19".

cocoviolette HI - This shawl, stole is not beaver. It is a fur called Kandinsky also known as Russian Squirrel that was popular in the 1940's. It is a beautiful reddish brown. I have one exactly like it that my neighbor, who is a 3rd generation Swiss furrier and ran the fur salon at I Magnin for many years identified for me. It is a very nice piece but I think it is important to correctly identify the type of fur. You have a. lovely closet by the way! Intriguing items!
